It's May
Hello readers, and welcome to May! I’m actually not going to talk a whole lot— I’ll probably have a lot more to say next newsletter, but stay tuned because towards the end of this newsletter is a peek at the Haldian style sheet from the Legends of Haldia series, and next newsletter I should be sending out the first chapter from my upcoming novel. But until then.
The Leshy’s Lover is Out
The world was not made for people like her—Fleur knew that.
She was part of a long line of traveling merchants who sailed upon the seas, ones who were born into the same trade as their ancestors and who lived and died on the ocean, travelling to port after port, selling their wares, never able to put down roots anywhere.
From the very beginning, Fleur had accepted her destiny was to be a bookseller and a bookseller alone, but that all changes when her brother comes across an ancient Haldian tome, and rumor spreads of the book written in old fae—a book that her brother thinks will make their fortune and free them from their fate.
The only problem? The book vanishes, stolen by a rat-like fae and his friends, including a Leshy somehow turned wayward from the forest of Whynne where his roots were meant to be set.
Suddenly, Fleur’s brother is captured by the Haldian guard and the rag tag group of fae along with the stolen book are her only chance of retrieving them.
And if you’ve fallen behind on the World of Whynne series, don’t forget that the Selkie’s Salvation is up as well.
Life was, for the most part, simple. Or at least in Charlie’s mind it was.
From the moment the rat-fae had been born, it had been clear to him that the odds were never going to be in his favor and he was never going to have any sort of a respectable life. And so, he simply took the world as it was, stealing where he could and lusting after beautiful large chested Haldian women when they weren’t looking—his was, for the most part, a selfish existence.
Until he met her.
Thrown into the ocean after one bet too many, Charlie never expected to wake up in the arms of a Selkie—much less one that couldn’t hear.
But even though she was everything Charlie most definitely did not want, and he was everything she most certainly didn’t need, Charlie can’t help but feel protective towards the beautiful young fae—but Charlie knows that a girl like her would never fall for a fae like him…
And, for a short period of time, i.e. this month, the GanCanagh’s Bride is available as well as several other fantasy romance books for free as a part of an author co-op.
This is the first book in the World of Whynne spin off series and also elaborates on a lot of the lore from the Gancanagh in the Chronicles of Whynne series so try it out! I mean, it’s free?
It had been day once.
Long before the endless night overtook the country of Whynne. Before King and Queens declared their rule, before the Seelie and Unseelie had been driven to the woods.
When Caelan, the last Gancanagh was young, and the war of Whynne had only just begun.
Before he roamed the woods, trying to protect what little of fae society was left. Before humans and Seelie intermingled.
Legend says that the last Gancanagh had been in love with a mere human girl, one who broke his heart and turned him into the monster that those in Whynne feared.
But legends are often wrong.
What I’m Currently Up To
As of right now, I’m currently working on writing another book, navigating car troubles (I.e. my car died in the middle of a highway, so never bring up cars to me again) and doing some crochet.

I’m not very good at crochet, largely because I’m still learning— but I like to try new things and make gifts for people I love, like little versions of their dogs.
I’ve recently been considering doing another poll just to see what readers what in books from me, other than more romance since I’ve sort of been on and off on that lately, but I feel for the most part, peaceful.
You know, aside from my car dying in the middle of the highway.
To be honest, I’m a little burnt out on life lately, but I’m hoping I’ll feel better next week. In the meantime, here’s the standard ad break of places creating lists for other books and authors before we go into what I’ve been reading.
As always, the photos are the links.
(Catch up on mythology themed romance if you can, because soon I’ll be making a lot of it.)
What I’ve Read/What I’m Liking
I want to apologize, because I think I’ve mentioned the first title once before and said I was excited to read it, but at the same time…
To Woo and To Wed as well as Wildfire have been my two favorite books I read the last month.
West, the Marquess of Weston, and Sophie, Lady Fitzwilliam Bridewell, have lately been spending a considerable amount of time together. But West and Sophie are not new acquaintances. In fact, years ago, they had once been nearly engaged until West’s almost fatal curricle accident and his meddling father threw them off course.
Now recently widowed, Sophie has put aside all thoughts of romance. But when her widowed sister, Alexandra, mentions a fondness for an earl, Sophie realizes that she may be holding her sister back. Alexandra won’t move forward with an engagement until Sophie, too, settles down again, and so Sophie approaches West with a plan. They will announce their engagement and break things off once Alexandra is happily married. It’ll be simple. After all, it’s not like she is going to fall for West a second time, not when Sophie has sworn not to risk her heart again.
Maple Hills students Russ Callaghan and Aurora Roberts cross paths at a party celebrating the end of the academic year, where a drinking game results in them having a passionate one-night stand. Never one to overstay her welcome (or expect much from a man), Aurora slips away before Russ even has the chance to ask for her full name.
Imagine their surprise when they bump into each other on the first day of the summer camp where they are both counselors, hoping to escape their complicated home lives by spending the summer working. Russ hopes if he gets far enough away from Maple Hills, he can avoid dealing with the repercussions of his father’s gambling addiction, while Aurora is tired of craving attention from everyone around her, and wants to go back to the last place she truly felt at home.
Russ knows breaking the camp’s strict “no staff fraternizing” rule will have him heading back to Maple Hills before the summer is over, but unfortunately for him, Aurora has never been very good at caring about the rules. Will the two learn to peacefully coexist? Or did their one night together start a fire they can’t put out?
My favorite song for the past week has been ‘My Boy Only Breaks His Favorite Toys’— By Taylor Swift.
I made jokes about authors who were waiting for Taylor Swift to release her album so they could get inspiration for their next books and now I’m the clown because I’ve listened to this song like nine hundred times in the past few days while drafting.
But you know what? It’s okay.
Anyway, I apologize for this newsletter being so brief and uninformative, I’m kind of having a time lately, so I’m just trying to collect myself and get ready what I have to to prepare for the World of Whynne Anthology collection launch and start getting ready for another book launch. Here’s a screenshot of the one page Haldia style sheet I kept forgetting to send you all— it’s basically a document I sent my editor to ensure we’re on the same page with series and consistency. It’s also like two years old and I still get confused about the laid/lied rule.
